On September 29, 2021, the U.S. FDA issued the "Notice List of Valid Food Contact Substances (FCS)," notification number: FCN No. 2161. In the notice, the food contact substance (hypochlorous acid) is approved "as antibacterial ice cubes for cooling whole or diced fish and seafood in retail food establishments and food processing facilities." details as follows:
